It really is an overall redundant app, since there is tremendous overlap in the services it and WMP provide. In most all cases when you get an error message about kernel32.dll it is because of system incompatibilities with the application you are trying to run. Window Media Player Classic that comes with alot of codecpacks always kept working tho regardless if WMP11 failing to open or not.. I only just bought this PC with windows 7.
